Golf Trip Mornington Peninsula

The 19th hole is at Terry’s. Private karaoke rooms, Mornington Peninsula cocktails and a piano bar that turns a golf trip into a full weekend to remember.

The Best Golf Trips End With a Great Night Out

The Mornington Peninsula is one of Australia’s finest golf destinations. With over 19 courses including several ranked in the top 20 in the country, it attracts groups from Melbourne and interstate who come specifically to play the best links courses the region has to offer.

Most groups spend two to four days on the Peninsula. The days are full: early tee times, back-to-back rounds, lunch at the clubhouse and a long afternoon on the course. By the time the sun goes down the group is ready for something that extends the energy of the day without requiring any planning.

Terry’s Karaoke & Piano Bar in Rye is where golf groups end up. A private room for the group, Peninsula-sourced cocktails, grazing boards and a song library covering every decade. The piano bar at the front of the venue keeps the night going as long as anyone wants it to. It is the kind of night that gets talked about on the drive home.

Whether you are organising a bucks weekend, an annual mates trip, a corporate golf day or a club getaway, Terry’s is an easy evening addition that needs almost no planning on your part.

Mornington Peninsula Golf Trip: What to Do When the Clubs Are Put Away

The Mornington Peninsula’s golf courses are the reason most groups make the trip. Moonah Links, St Andrews Beach, The Dunes, The National, Portsea, Cape Schanck, Rosebud, Sorrento and Eagle Ridge between them offer some of the best public access golf in Australia. Groups come to play two, three or four courses over a long weekend and it is genuinely hard to pick a bad one.

What most groups find is that the evenings are an open question. Dinner at the clubhouse is great. A drink at the accommodation covers the first night. But by night two or three the group wants something to do together that is as social and memorable as the golf itself.

Terry’s Karaoke & Piano Bar is in Rye, central to most of the Peninsula’s best courses and a short drive from accommodation hubs in Rye, Rosebud, Blairgowrie and Sorrento. It is the social evening that golf trip organisers keep coming back to, because it is easy to book, genuinely fun for a group of any size and gives the trip a proper send-off.

A Suggested Golf Trip Evening Itinerary

After the round

Finish at the clubhouse. A drink at the 19th, settle the scorecard, and get back to the accommodation to get changed.

Early evening

Dinner in Rye or Rosebud. The Peninsula has good options for groups, from pub meals to proper restaurants. Keep it relaxed.

Evening

Head to Terry’s Karaoke & Piano Bar in Rye. Your private room is set up and ready for the group. Cocktails, grazing boards, and the full song library from the moment you walk in.

Later

Move through to the piano bar at the front of the venue. Live piano, singalongs, and the kind of loose, social energy that only happens when a group of people have spent two days competing against each other and are finally ready to have a proper laugh.

End of night

Walk home, get a cab or have a driver sorted. Terry’s is central to Rye and most Peninsula accommodation is within easy reach.

Why Golf Groups Keep Coming Back to Terry's

A golf group is a specific kind of crowd. They have been competing against each other all day, the banter has been building for 36 holes, and by the time the evening comes around they want something social that matches the energy of the day, not a quiet dinner where the conversation winds down at 9pm.

Terry’s works for golf groups because it is both private and social at the same time. The private karaoke room gives the group their own space to carry on the day’s conversations without being surrounded by strangers. The piano bar at the front gives the night somewhere to go when the group is ready to open it up and join the rest of the venue.

Because Terry’s is already set up for groups, there is very little for the organiser to arrange. Book the room, mention how many are coming, and the rest is sorted. No seating plans, no coordinating with restaurants, no worrying about noise. Just arrive and let the night run itself.

The cocktail list is built on Mornington Peninsula spirits, wines and beers. For a group that has just spent two days on the Peninsula’s courses, that is a detail that lands well.

Annual Mates Trips

  • Good for groups who want a proper social night without over-organising it
  • The piano bar is always there as a backup if the group wants to extend the night

Corporate Golf Days

Post-golf corporate entertainment on the Peninsula often ends at the clubhouse. Terry’s gives the evening a proper second act. Private rooms keep the group together in a relaxed, contained environment. The experience is memorable without being excessive. It works for clients, staff and mixed groups equally well.

  • Private rooms available for corporate groups
  • Drinks packages and grazing boards manageable as a single pre-arranged cost
  • Relaxed, inclusive format that works across age groups and personalities
  • Not a nightclub. An easy, social, genuinely enjoyable evening

What to Expect at Terry's

Terry’s Karaoke & Piano Bar is in Rye, a short walk or drive from most Peninsula accommodation. The venue has two parts: six private karaoke rooms at the back and a lively piano bar at the front.

The private rooms range from intimate rooms for six up to the Premier Room which fits up to 40. Every room is fully soundproofed, fitted with professional karaoke equipment and has bar service directly to the room. You do not need to leave the room to get another round in.

The piano bar is where the whole venue comes together. A live pianist plays requests across every decade, the crowd joins in, and the energy builds from about 8pm onwards. Most golf groups move through from the private rooms to the piano bar at some point in the evening and find it hard to leave.

The drinks list is built on Mornington Peninsula producers. Local spirits, local wine, local beer. Cocktails are handcrafted and the grazing boards use Peninsula produce. It is a venue that genuinely reflects where it sits.

Where do I even start!!
Terry’s karaoke & piano bar was an experience we will never forget!
We had a hens party with 21 people and they were so accommodating from start to finish!
Dan was so quick to reply with any questions I had during the booking process and nothing was too much trouble!
On the day, our whole group was welcomed warmly by all the friendly staff and they went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after! We had a ball in the private karaoke room, then we had even more fun out in the piano bar, where Jam the piano man played all the hits and had everyone dancing and singing! The bouncer, Hana was an absolute legend and also looked after our group and had us laughing!
Thank you all so much for making a night we will remember forever! We will be back!
Ps- can you please open one in torquay!! The Terry’s experience needs to be spread far and wide!

This piano/karaoke venue is a much needed gem on the peninsula. The decor is plush and very comfortable with a good view of the piano from all seats within the bar area. The staff are friendly, attentive and welcoming. The doorman is an exceptional host from the moment you arrive. The atmosphere on a Sunday night was vibrant, fun and family friendly. You even get to request the music you want o hear and if the urge takes you you can have your own private karaoke room. Do yourself a favour next time you are in the peninsula and check it out.

Oh what a night! Came for, and enjoyed, the amazing karaoke experience; stayed for the piano bar! Incredible evening dancing the night away to an electric line up of hit after hit, classic after classic! The bar staff were super friendly and attentive, and the cocktails were delicious - also a big fan of the Piper champagne available at the bar too, really elevated the experience! The decor is so thoughtfully considered, an absolute gem on the Mornington Peninsula- can’t wait to go back!

Terry’s Karaoke Bar & Piano Bar is an absolute standout. Insane in the best way. Amazing cocktails, incredible vibes, and genuinely outstanding service from every single person we dealt with. The music was spot on, the atmosphere was electric — and the security? Epic. Absolute legend, all the moves, keeping the evening fun and safe. Couldn’t fault it. This is exactly what Rye needed. If you’re visiting or even better, if you’re a local, do yourself a favour and pop in 🍸🎶💃

Terry’s Karaoke has just opened and the fit-out is a gorgeous, relaxed, 60s vibe with velvet, chandeliers, plush couches and really comfortable seating.

We went with a mix of teens and adults and had so much fun. The private karaoke rooms were perfect for a family night out, and the piano bar was a highlight. The piano man had the whole room singing and dancing which was such a great atmosphere. It’s something special to have a whole room singing the same song together!

Amazing cocktails (see photos!) and a really nice selection of local wines and spirits, plus genuinely friendly, welcoming service. There’s nothing else like this in Rye or the Mornington Peninsula. Highly recommend a visit!
